The typical property in BH11

BH11 sits in BCP Council and covers Kinson west, Bear Cross and parts of West Howe. Kinson historically had significant council housing built from the 1930s and 1950s onwards, much of which has passed into owner-occupation through Right to Buy. Bear Cross is the major junction at the A348/A347 and the surrounding area has a mix of housing types. Housing is mixed: 1930s council semis, postwar council estates (Kinson and West Howe), 1960s and 1970s council flats, and newer estate development from the 1990s onwards.

There is no station within BH11. The A348 Ringwood Road and A347 provide road links. The Wessex Way (A338) is to the east.

Employment patterns are commuter into central Bournemouth and Poole. The Royal Bournemouth Hospital and the financial services belt in central Bournemouth are major destinations. Demographics skew towards working families with some areas (particularly West Howe) showing deprivation indices above the regional average per ONS small-area data.
